Mr. Michael Chiusiwa is a trained and well accomplished (public) policy and governance specialist, legislative drafter, and diplomat. He holds a Master of Science (Public Policy) degree from the University of Bristol, England; a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from Chancellor College, University of Malawi; and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting from the International Law Institute.
He was appointed the first ever Deputy Director of Public Officers’ Declarations on 15th August, 2014, by the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament. He started his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 13 years before, where he worked as a Foreign Service Officer (Political Affairs). In 2005, Mr. Chiusiwa joined Malawi Parliament as a Committee Clerk where he rose to head the oversight organ of Parliament, the Parliamentary Committee System, until his current appointment.
